We provide assistance as requested by guests as part of our customer service and are more than happy to do what we can, where possible, to enhance our guest experience here at Port of Leith.

Our address is 11 Whisky Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6FH. We’re a short walk from Ocean Terminal and the Royal Yacht Britannia.

BY TRAM
Stop at Ocean Terminal. Operating from every 7 mins, 6am - midnight 7 days a week.
BY BUS: LOTHIAN BUSES
Service Number 10, 34, 35, 36 and 200 Airport Bus - frequent service to Ocean Terminal from the city centre.
Service Number 16 - disembark at Commercial Street, the distillery is a short walk.
BY TRAIN
Edinburgh Waverley Train Station located in the City Centre is approximately 15 mins by public transport from Ocean Terminal. There is a taxi rank within the train station and the tram or bus can be picked up near the station.
BY CAR
For Sat Nav and Google Maps, use the postcode EH6 6FH. Follow road signs to Leith/North Edinburgh, brown tourist signs for 'Britannia' and 'Leith Attractions' signs. There is free parking at Ocean Terminal. Please note, overnight or long term parking is not available.
BY TAXI
The drop-off point is at the Royal Marines 43rd Commando Memorial.
ACCESSIBILITY INFO FOR VISITORS OF PORT OF LEITH DISTILLERY
ON ARRIVAL
Visitors arriving by car should be aware that there are no parking facilities at the distillery. The red car park at Ocean Terminal is the nearest parking.
All areas open to the public are accessible through step-free level access.
The main entrance to Port of Leith Distillery is along an open walkway then up to the main door either via the steps or the ramp. The doorway is 83cms wide and manually opens inwards. The door can be heavy especially in windy weather, please let us know in advance if you require assistance with the door and a member of staff will greet you at the entrance.
From here you take the elevator to Level 6 for Retail & Tours, 7 for toilets or 8 for the bar.
The shop is staffed during opening hours. There are large picture windows in all aspects of the shop. There are low level counters in place and a low level bench for anyone needing a rest. Dogs are permitted in the shop and the Distillery bar however as we are a production facility, they are not allowed on the tour.
Sensory packs are available. Please ask when you check in for your tour should you require one.
We have a Hearing Loop system. Please ask a member of staff should you wish to use it.
THE TOUR
Port of Leith Distillery is a working distillery set out vertically over 9 floors. This is an industrial environment with production machinery in operation 7 days a week. Please be aware that you will be touring through a production facility with open grate flooring between each level. It is possible to see from Level 4 down to the stills on Level 1. There are plated walkways throughout, however we advise that you wear sensible footwear - no high heels, cleated cycling shoes or open toe shoes whilst on the tour.
The Port of Leith Distillery advises caution if you suffer from a heart condition, high blood pressure or any balance impairment.
Tour group size is a maximum of 20 people and lasts approximately 90 minutes. The group move together to different areas of the distillery, always accompanied by a tour guide.
The tour starts in the shop located on Level 6 which is reached by the elevator.There is a bench available for seating whilst waiting for the tour to begin. From there, the guide will tour you down through the distillery to Levels 4, 3 & 1 either by the stairs or by the service lift. Seating is available on each level should it be required. We do have a wheelchair on site should you prefer not to walk between each level.
Part of the tour involves bottling your own miniature New Make spirit. Full instruction is given on how to operate the bottling machine and this process is monitored by the tour guide.
From Level 1 we take you back to the QC Lab on Level 5 for a seated tasting of 5 samples which usually takes around 30 minutes. Again, the elevator can take you between levels. We finish the tour back on Level 6 in the retail area.
From here you are welcome to visit the bar and the elevator will take you straight from Retail to Level 8. We have tables and seating of various heights and levels and can book you a place to suit you.
Accessible toilets are located on Levels 5, 7 & 9
Our elevators are fitted with hearing loops. We are currently working to install hearing loops in our retail reception and bar area.
All tours are in English. We have printed versions of our tour script available in English, French & Polish

The Port of Leith Distillery is a non-smoking venue.
There are no outdoor facilities at the distillery.
We have bicycle stands available for use. Bicycles are left at the owner’s risk.
Soft drinks are available for non-drinkers and we offer take-home bottles of the tasting drinks for designated drivers.
The Distillery Bar located on the 8th floor is open from 11 am Tuesday to Sunday serving coffee, tea, pastries, well-crafted cocktails, thoughtfully curated small plates, and an impressive selection of new-wave whisky. Bookings recommended.
